Serving over 30,000 students in more than 1,500 classrooms, the Fremont Unified School District is challenged with maintaining optimal learning environments while managing rising utility costs on a restricted budget. In partnership with the District since 1992, Syserco has helped the District achieve its demanding operational goals through the creation and implementation of unique building management and control strategies.
Having standardized on Alerton throughout the district, the Fremont USD staff leverage a centralized Alerton EMS server with web access and SQL database to provide single-seat access to manage the 43 campuses’ HVAC and lighting systems. District maintenance team members regularly engage in factory certified Alerton technical training sessions at Syserco’s Practice Based Learning Center. This training enables self-performed system maintenance and allows for system expansion and modification by Distract Staff through Syserco’s Parts and Smarts partnership program.
To remain in compliance with California’s stringent Title 24 Energy Code, Fremont Unified School District employs Syserco’s engineering expertise to leverage the powerful control capabilities found in the Alerton product line. In partnership, FUSD and Syserco are incorporating energy reduction design and algorithms into all new construction and retrofit projects alike. With standards for CO2 demand control ventilation, zone occupancy/vacancy monitoring, operable door/window status monitoring and Automatic Demand Reduction strategies, the District is able to achieve energy savings well beyond the mandated efficiency standards.
